The village-like resort looks out over the Aegean Sea and has a beach club on the protected bay. Buildings are constructed from local materials, and each guest pavilion has a private garden with a pool and pergola. There’s also a glittering hillside infinity pool, an award winning Aman spa, a yoga studio and a library tower. Food is a melange of Mediterranian and Turkish cuisine with a scattering of dining pavilions throughout the resort.

This youthful yet refined property boasts an dramatic setting on the Aegean Sea. Edition-typical minimalist rooms are complemented by impeccably designed public spaces. The resort is set on a peaceful bay and framed by dramatic hills dotted with white vacation homes, a scene typical of the Aegean coast. There are ample spots for relaxing, from the private beach and the deck with cabanas and ladders into the sea. On a secluded, Aegean-spanning stretch of coast north of Bodrum, Six Senses Kaplankaya is a lesson in the art of getting away from it all. As is typical for this hotel group, a far-flung, isolated, at-one-with-nature setting is standard, but this one has the added bonus – on top of the gorgeous olive groves, towering cypress trees and blooming oleander – of two ancient wonders of the world nearby. The spa is spectacular and sure to cure any woe, whether it’s sleeplessness or saggy skin, but it’s the Earth Lab that will really make a difference: guests are encouraged to connect with their surroundings and learn some valuable life hacks while they’re at it.
