We are giddy with excitement over Zara’s new beauty line – Zara Beauty - and with good reason. Not only is renowned British make-up artist and regular backstage fashion week presence Diane Kendal - think Tom Ford and YSL Beautè - at the helm of product development, but renowned aesthete Fabien Baron - editorial director of Andy Warhol's Interview magazine - is conceiving the sleek lacquered black-and-white eco-friendly packaging. With sustainability in mind, all products are vegan, cruelty-free and designed to be refilled – except the nail colours which come housed in recyclable, eco-chic glass. From soft, pigmented shadows, to bright jelly lip oils and velvety nude lipsticks the line-up is vast and teeters on an unintimidating playful feel.

Inclusivity is key across the expansive collection, regardless of gender, skin colour, age, or personal style. Much like Zara itself, there is something for everyone to try. Expect to find plenty of suit-all shades, while the high-quality, natural ingredients lend the formulas a malleable quality, so they’re easy to build up, layer and work with. The stylo lipsticks, in Kendal’s thoughtfully curated in Farrow & Ballesque colours are neither unfashionably shiny nor wilfully matte. For those favouring the extremes there are matte and satin lipsticks as well as a tinted balm. Pigment packed easily blendable powder eyeshadows can be found in everyday nudes as well as vibrant tones.

With a plan to launch 130 colours across six lip products (matte, satin, demi-matte, lip oils and glosses), six eyeshadow palettes, loose metallic pigments, bronzers, blush palettes and highlighters – this initial launch is just the beginning.

Zara Beauty is set to launch in the Middle East later this month.
